PROGRAMME

We offer integrated progressive curriculum for children aged from 5 to 12. We aim to create and nurture the development of children's musical abilities to their highest level. Music Theory, reading music and a practical approach to learning a chosen musical instrument are our priorities. Our Teachers are specifically selected for their musical, communication and teaching skills. They have undertaken intensive training programs with us and their work is regularly monitored.

Our classes aim to provide a non-competitive approach that offers students fun and exciting music lessons, enhanced self confidence, self esteem and improved eye/hand/mind co-ordination.

Lessons are of a typical 30 minutes duration and are held once per week at school. Lessons are held in either small groups or private tuition at the school. (A complete and convenient service for the busy parent!). Periodical concerts are also included in the program.

Research has shown that students benefit in learning an instrument by enhancing Academic Performance, Study Skills, Self-Expression, Co-Ordination, Self-Confidence, Concentration and much more!

HIRING / PURCHASE

Instrument hire is available and can be conveniently provided to each student on request and when available. We also have new equipment for purchase at competitive prices.

We also offer Instruments for Hire, starting at $16.50 per month (including GST) for a minimum of 3 months (then monthly hire after this period). Order early to avoid delays! Check out our Instrument Hire page for further details.

ENROLMENT

If you are interested in enrolling your child for lessons, please fill in the form below and submit it or print and return it to the school or to us by post. If sending by post, address mail to Metro Music School P.O. BOX 874 Eltham, Victoria, Australia. 3095. We will then reply with payment details and confirmation of lessons (day/time). Enrolment can be made at any time of year.

Tutor Books and a Diary will be supplied to your child at the commencement of lessons. An account for Fees and Lesson Books will be sent to you each Term.

1. Lessons are held once per week and are of 30 minutes duration. Lessons are usually conducted during school hours or after school hours at selected schools.

2. Cancellations are only accepted with written notice at least two weeks before term ends (excluding school holidays). Cancellations are not accepted after this time frame. Students are automatically enrolled for the following term.

3. The commitment for tuition is for a minimum of one full school term. There is no refund of fees if this agreement is terminated during the term.

4. Charges for a maximum of 10 lessons per term are payable in advance on a term by term basis. Fees for each term are due 7 days after receiving our tax invoice. Payment should be received by the due date to ensure students are not withdrawn from lessons. If any problems arise with payment of fees please contact Metro Music School immediately to discuss alternative arrangements.

5. Your first invoice will include fees for music books, practice diaries and/or accessories. Metro Music School will supply these items. Cheques and/or money orders should be made payable to Metro Music School. All payments should be sent direct to P.O. Box 874, Eltham, 3095. Internet Banking and/or Credit Card are also available. Please do not send payment to the Primary School.

6. Metro Music School will provide Keyboards to the school (for Keyboard students). It is the parent's/student's responsibility to bring all other appropriate instruments and books to each lesson. Hiring and/or purchasing of instruments are available through Metro Music School. (students should have an instrument before commencement of lessons).

7. Lessons will be made up if the instrumental teacher is absent. All other lessons missed due to non attendance will be considered as given.

8. Metro Music School may use a substitute teacher if the student's current instrumental teacher is unable to conduct lessons on the regular lesson day.

9. If there are insufficient enrolments in an offered instrument, students will be included on a waiting list until suitable numbers permit commencement of lessons.

10. If this agreement is terminated by Metro Music School or if for any reason outside Metro Music School's control its teacher has not been available at the school to provide the minimum number of lessons required by this agreement at the times arranged with the school, make up lessons will be arranged ASAP or a pro rata refund will be organised for the balance of the lesson entitlement. However, if any lesson is cancelled by the school due to the school wishing to conduct some other activity during the allotted lesson time, then for the purposes of this agreement and Metro Music School's obligation to provide a minimum number of lessons, Metro Music School will nevertheless be taken to have provided the lesson.

11. Notwithstanding any other provision of this agreement no credit or refund on account of the tuition fee or entitlement to make up lesson shall arise if the student is absent or does not bring his or her instrument to the lesson or if any lesson time allotted by the school happens to fall on a public holiday.

Please enrol my son/daughter in the Instrumental Music Program with Metro Music School. I also request that he/she be released from the care of the school into the care of the instrumental teacher for the duration of the lesson. Should I change address and/or telephone number, I authorise the above named school to release my new details to Metro Music School. I understand and accept the above conditions and will forward all payments for books, tuition and items provided by Metro Music School to the above mentioned address and/or available payment facilities.
